Chief Human Resources Officer

Diane Grooms is the chief Human Resources officer for Consolidated Nuclear Security, the management and operating contractor for the Y-12 National Security Complex in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. In that role, she is responsible for welfare and retirement plans, labor and employee relations with five union contracts, compensation, management training and development, policies and procedures, EEO/AA and diversity, and staffing.

Grooms has more than 34 years of human resources experience and has applied her experience to successfully build and shape a results‑oriented culture through strategic recruitment, development, and retention of key talent. Of the 8,100 employees at Y‑12, approximately 30% are eligible for retirement at any time, and many of these employees have skills that are critical to the success of the national nuclear defense mission. She has led the development of effective recruiting strategies and workforce plans to address these issues and further align HR with the company’s strategic plan.

Grooms holds a B.S. in organizational management from Tusculum University.
