Vice President, Performance Assurance

Mark Bymaster is vice president of Performance Assurance for Consolidated Nuclear Security, the management and operating contractor for the Y‑12 National Security Complex in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. In this role, he leads the CNS team responsible for Performance Improvement; Performance and Risk Management; Organizational Development and Training; Occupational Health; Readiness and Compliance; Quality; and Environment, Safety, and Health.

Before joining CNS in 2024, Bymaster served as director of Test Complex Modernization for National Aerospace Solutions, which was the test operations and sustainment contractor for the U.S. Air Force at the Arnold Engineering Development Complex (AEDC) near Tullahoma, Tennessee. He provided oversight and program management for capital project improvements to existing test facilities as well as for design and construction of a new hypersonic test facility.

Bymaster’s experience in the aerospace industry spans three decades. At AEDC, he also served as director of Performance Assurance, leading the departments of Security; Continuous Improvement; Quality; and Safety, Health, and Environmental. His other roles at AEDC included product manager for Aeropropulsion, manager for Test Engineering Operations, and lead test engineer. Additionally, he was the test development engineer for the Aircraft Engines division of General Electric, directing assembly and buildup of a Joint Technology Demonstrator Engine program and managing flight test support and product evaluation for the F/A‑18 Super Hornet flight test program.

He holds a B.S. in aeronautical engineering technology from Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana. He is also an instrument‑rated commercial pilot and a certified airframe and powerplant mechanic.
