Diane Grooms
Chief Human Resources Officer
Diane Grooms is the chief human resources officer for Consolidated Nuclear Security, LLC, which is responsible for the management and operation of the Pantex Plant in Amarillo, Texas, and the Y‑12 National Security Complex in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. In that role, overseeing both sites, she is responsible for welfare and retirement plans, labor and employee relations with nine union contracts, compensation, management training and development, policies and procedures, EEO/AA and diversity, and staffing.
Grooms joined Bechtel in June 1990 and has more than 26 years of Human Resources experience.
She also has served as the Bechtel corporate interface for human resources at Y‑12. In 2006, she became the manager for workforce planning and recruiting at Y‑12. In that role, she established a results‑oriented culture through strategic recruitment, development and retention of key talent. Of the 4,800 employees at Y‑12, approximately 50 percent are eligible for retirement at any time, and many of those employees have skills that are critical to the success of the Y‑12 nuclear defense mission. Grooms has led the development of effective recruiting strategies and workforce plans to address these issues and further align HR with the company’s strategic plan.
Grooms has directed project administration on the Central Interstate Compact project, Remedial Investigation/Feasibility Study project, the D&D Division, the Palos Forest Park project and other projects across the United States.
She holds a B.S. in organizational management from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.
